Once again you cvan do this directly from the house.
Once you have crossed the road and walked down the steps to the harbour wall take a left and walk around the harbour until you reach the other side by the main fishing harbour entrance. Take a left and take the path between Overgang Road and the harbourmaster building (shown). This takes you behind the fishing port buildings and eventually below the yacht club.
Carry on along this path until you reach the steps at the end heading up into a wooded area. You will have passed several slipways, tonnes of benches with lovely harbour views and potentially seen a couple of the harbour seals that seem to like to frequent this little area! Take the steps up to Battery Gardens.
This is the bottom end of Battery Gardens - there are several paths off to the left which lead up the higher part of Battery Gardens. The panoramic viws of the bay that you get from here explain why it was used as a WW2 Battery Point - you can see several remnants of shelters used by the Brixham Home Guard to protect the area.
If you walk through Battery Gardens to the other side and then continue on the path a little way you will soon see Churston Cove in the distance. As you walk further around you will see Fishcombe Beach with its little blue and white striped cafe - great spot for a coffe or a beer! There are also toilets here (renovated and reopened by the cafe owner so please treat them well!). There are several sets of steps down (depending on whether the tide is out!) You can either return from here or carry on towards Churston Cove and eventually Elberry Cove and Broadsands Beach (see other walks)
